Male, 15 years, Senior Dog.
Super Senior, Missing his lower jaw.
Spud is a tiny grampy who was turned into the shelter with a giant abscess over his eye that the vet was concerned was eroding his skull and has what they call “rubber jaw” (his lower jaw bone has eroded and hangs down).
No personality issues, but he is fragile and doesn’t love to be handled a ton because he is a grampy.

BIO
We had seen this little tater tot online and both Hillary Rosen and I texted each other about him. He’s basically a hamster and doesn’t even count as having another dog in the house! We thought he was being rescued by another group so we agreed to take Fast Patty for a new foster. Wouldn’t you know it as soon as we did, the South LA Animal Shelter called Hillary asking her if APR would help Spud. So, we decided it would be a foster double whammy and we would foster both Spud and Fast Patty! Spud came is as a possible owner but that owner never came for him. He was in pretty rough shape with a big, squishy abscess over his eye, flappy jaw and just generally a hot mess.
With the right medical care, a healthy diet and supplements, and a chill retirement home to recuperate in…Spud is really coming back to life! You know, for an old grampy. He enjoys his hand feedings, he loves snuggling with his foster siblings and he takes a few mall walk laps around the house before stretching and settling back in for a nap.
