BIO
King has a progressive disease of his spinal cord. He has a loss of coordination and strength in his back legs. He wobbles when he walks. He is also incontinent. He uses a wheelchair for long walks. He can get around very well in his wheelchair.’Pit Mix, 60 Lbs. XL Collar and Harness.King, a 12-year-old brindle pit mix, entered the San Bernardino shelter when his family decided they didn’t want the responsibility for him any longer. Frosted Faces Foundation, a senior dog rescue in Ramona, CA stepped in and arranged for his safe exit. After King arrived at Frosted Faces staff and volunteers noted his unusual gait. King was vetted and although the x-rays showed severe arthritis, the issue is neurological. He was diagnosed with degenerative myelopathy. It is progressive spinal disease resulting in lack of coordination and weakness in his limbs. It will eventually progress to complete paralysis.
King's spirit is strong, and he loves being a part of everything!
He was fitted for a wheelchair so he can really cruise. He hikes weekly with volunteers from Frosted Faces and really flies. He has earned the nickname “Hot Wheels”
King loves all people and other dogs. While at Frosted Faces he rotated with a play group of other dogs, no problem! In his foster home he lives in harmony with two dogs. He is extremely chill and gives tons of kisses. King is a loveable, well-mannered dog.
